So, I would recommend 1E for people that wanted to play a 3.5 that was kept being worked on.ĢE was released only last year, but they're pumping out a lot of content, the core rulebook is quite massive (600+ pages) and from the start there's more build diversity than D&D5E. Pathfinder 1E is basically D&D 3.8, with more than a decade of support from Paizo, which means there's a ton of content, but it also comes with some problems that 3.5 also had. I'm a major 2E shill, but just to point out the differences between the versions: Am I missing something like an ability to "spend BAB" on something that might similar to a Magus' combat casting boon that could unbalance a game or is this guy just too cocky? But I can't see how even doing certain damage with even a ranged weapon would undercut a game with more than 2 players. I can easily see roadblocks throwing up to have him have to hunt down a teacher for the various classes. What's more classes like Fighter and Barbarian give progressive boons to attack and damage while making a single class character.Ī level 11 Fighter will have +16/11 with a racial weapon.Ī level 10 multiclass will have +21/16 or +23/18 for 8ish rounds a day, and an extra +2 against giants with a racial weapon.

He's not going to get bonus attacks, and by level 13 he's out of Full BAB classes to dip so that's just going to be exchanging BAB for a circumstance bonus.
